Great! another impulse thing people can buy and kill
piss poor idea, this is a good example of what not to do, somethings need to be left in the ocean, this is one of them![]()

Nothing new, this company has been selling habitat jelly-fish aquariums for years along with tank-raised specimens...

Hi Alex,
I don't think your market will be typical reef-aquarium hobbyists. In fact, I would be very surprised if even 1/10 of 1% of reef hobbyists would be interested in a jellyfish tank regardless of the price. Your market will be wealthy people who see a jellyfish tank as a conversation piece for their new $6.9 million penthouse condo. More like architectural art than a true hobby. They would expect the local shop to provide full maintenance, 24/7.
Did you see this article in the New York Times? A jellyfish tank as performance art is discussed on page two. We discussed that article in this thread on Reefland. You may find the comments informative.
Good luck with your venture but I suggest you concentrate your efforts on trust fund babies and Google millionaires in Silicon Valley, or maybe some of the new money South of Market. See if Joe Montana wants one for his Millennium Tower condo. Or maybe you can sell G one for his $6.9-million-dollar ($8 million with upgrades) penthouse on the 42nd floor of The Infinity Tower II. He spent $250,000 just on the white carrera marble floors so a little $25,000 jellyfish tank wouldn't be all that much to ask.![]()
