I think the coolest is when acans get a squirt of it or my brain. They seem like they turn inside out..... Lol.. I've been mixing in a little Fuel from aqua vitro and am starting to get colors I never saw. If you want a neat sps pick up a red planet or a lemonade. Great for pe and if you place them right, some amazing colors.

    Good news and bad news

The good news is I've accepted a job offer beginning the 29th. The bad news is, it's a travelling job, so the tank has to go. For now at least. I hope to be in a more local position down the road and I will surely get back into it then.

If anyone local is interested in a bundle deal for all the livestock (Fish, Inverts and Corals) please hit me up ASAP. I'd like to keep the equipment in order to start up again someday, but if it had to be, I could part with it in order to make a deal. The key thing is it needs to happen this week.

I'll post an asking price in the classifieds forum.

Congratulations on the new position Fin! Bummer on having to give up the tank though. Hope you stick around and get back into it before too long.

    Re: Fin's 55

Well, today was the sad day of the break down, but it's a relief to know everything went to good homes. A special thanks to James for making the trek out from the bay to adopt some of my corals. I'm not sure when my next build will start...It may be quite a while, but I'm looking forward to having a clean slate. One door closes and another one opens.

    So long 55!

    Re: Fin's 55

The 55 had a good run Fin. However short lived it was. I have no doubt that when the time is right, you'll come back big. I'll have plenty of frags for you so stocking shouldn't be a problem. On a side note, I think I know why your acros didn't have much polyp extension. It looks like they may have red bugs. I took a few shots with the DSLR and the extensions but it's still not close enough to be 100%. I'll post the pics in my thread later tonight or in the morning.

Seriously? I don't know how I could have missed that. Maybe it's time to get my eyes checked.

I hope you're mistaken and that I didn't just infect your tank!

    Re: Fin's 55

I'm almost positive fom the pictures I've seen of em. I was only able to see them on the frags closest to the front glass. Even then, I only saw little mites crawling around. The pics show their color and it looks like red bugs. That would explain the lack of polyp extension. No worries about it though, I don't qt my corals so it was going to happen. From what I read so far, interceptor works well and doesn't harm the tank as long as you remove crabs and shrimp. I'll load the pics and post them in my thread (James' 75 gallon intro).

Say it ain't so. To one of the good guys that helped me IMMENSLEY getting my tank off the ground, I thank you. Sad to hear but I know the drill. I used to work for Accenture and couldn't even hold a steady girlfriend, let alone a fish tank due to the time constraints. I can relate.

I will be putting up a 90 later this year. I hope u will be part of the build !

I took a look at your pics, and sure enough...those ARE redbugs. I've heard about them, and probably seen some generic pics at some point, but I don't think I realized they were quite that small. I wouldn't be able to see those without the aid of a zoom lens. It's good that I know what to look for now, and HOW to look for it. I'm sorry again for being a source of infection for your system. I hope the interceptor goes off without a hitch.

The tank is on pause, but I'm not going anywhere Chris, so let's get crackin!

Bah, don't worry about it Fin. From what I've read, they're more of a nuisance than a threat.
