    Heniochus Black & White Butterfly

I've read conflicting reports on the reef compatability of the Heniochus Black & White Butterfly fish. Can anyone help clarify if they are reef safe or if there are specific corals to avoid putting in a tank with them?

Current set up is a 72-gal FOWLR with 2 tank bred Ocellaris Clowns, 1 Flame Angel, 1 Heniochus Black & White Butterfly, 1 Linckia Star, 1 Pincushin Urchin, 1 Black Spiney Urchin, Various Hermit Crabs, 3 Turbo Snails. No halide lighting. Just looking to add low light items like mushrooms to add a bit of color and texture to the aquascaping.

Thanks for the help and happy reefing!

    Which one?

Heniochus diphreutes is but H. acuminatus is not. At least that's the general consensus. I've never kept either one. I think it's safe to say that if a vendor (Live Aquaria) says something is not reef compatible, that means it's not reef compatible. When a vendor says "reef compatible with caution," that too means not really reef compatible. They're not in business to talk you out of buying stuff.

I just checked out Live Aquaria to see what they had to say but the only one they list is H. acuminatus. They say it's not reef compatible.
