Question My green BTA split and looks to be splitting again?

I have a 25 gallon tank and my recently purchased bta split two days ago, and now the clone looks like it is splitting. Is this a last effort of survival?

    Tank parameters:
    Nitrate- 0
    Nitrite-0
    Ammonia-0.00-0.01
    pH-8.0-8.2

How long has your set up been running? I lost a yellow carpet and a green bubble that split because I did not wait long enough. Now I am maintaining one green plus one rose bubble-tip anenome. If the anenome starts to look like it is melting without tentacles remove it as soon as possible before it affects water quality.

My tank has been up for about 3 and a half months and cycled with water out of established tanks from my LFS for 2 weeks. It's tentacles are still visible and it still has a good foot hold, so I will just play the waiting game to see if it gets worse.

I am glad your anenome is still alive, hopefully they should heal quickly after splitting. How often do you do water changes? My set-up is a 46 gl display with a 38 gl refugium. I change atleast 10 gls/week and sometimes more.Happy Reefing!

Just got home from class and both anenomes look fine. I change 4 to 5 gallons every week and water quality has been perfect so far. Shew I thought I was loosing my free bubble tip. Thanks!

They can be weird sometimes, one minute they are full and happy, the next they are a blob of goo, just keep an eye on them, your parms, and water changes,

Hi happy bubble-tip mom. Start feeding them a week after splitting and then every three or four days a piece of ocean water red salmon the size of your fingernail or whatever size they do not spit out, depending on their individual size. I also have three clowns but you can cover them with a fish net if your clowns start bothering them to much. They say anenomes should be three times the size of thier host clowns, before they are able to take the constant beating and playing. Patients goes a long way in this wonderful hobby. Enjoy raising your bubbles.
