how fast is calcium used up in a 90 gal tank

aparently my calcium is a bit high at 500ish i have 1 hammer , 1 torch, 1 trumpet, 1 scoly, 1 bubble coral, 1 frogspawn, i have about 4 softies( toadstool, fingerleather, flat leather, xenia) and 3 diferent types of mushrooms( 3 orange 2 green and 12ish blue) and 3 types of zoas but i dont belive they require calcium . i have 30 snails and 2 urchins.
basicly im just trying to figure out is it worth waiting for the corals to use it up and let it normalize or something else.

Cool Re: how fast is calcium used up in a 90 gal tank

Hi Jessie; What do you use to add calcium and other supplements to your set-u? You can always do a water change but you could wait for it to come down naturally and test everyday so you can determine how much calcium is used . Test everyday at the same time to find out your proper dosing. What is your carbonate hardness (alkalinity reading)?

Re: how fast is calcium used up in a 90 gal tank

at the moment i am unsure when need my water tested i go to a store in elmsford ny about 2 weeks ago it was 500 a few weeks prior to that it was 550ish so it has been going down. also about every other week sometimes every week i do about a id say 20 gallon maybe 25 gallon water change my corals are all doing pretty well my torch has started to split a head my frogspawn looks like it might split soon though i cant tell its tentacles are always extended. my scoly seems to be a bit flat today so i decided to move it down to the bottom figureing its geting too much light though im not sure the bottom is the best place as i have a few extra bristleworms then im comftorable with.
what i use is a 2 part buffer system KENT MARINE TECH CB PART A & B my lfs instructed me to keep adding part b every other day. and dont use part a
