I added a few more pics to my site, check them out if you get a chance! I will be posting more soon, I will be getting my clams tomorrow. Jeff's Exotic Fish is sending me 2 purple maximas, and one gold for 30.00. They are 2", I had a 20.00 livestock certificate from my wave maker, not bad! I also bought a small 6-line wrasse and a Royal gramma. Will the wrasse really help with any snails on the clams? Thanks!

jeffrey,
the wrasse does have the tendency to pick at the harmful snails which bother clams. But as with any fish, there can be exceptions. Even though the six line beauty is in there, dont get complacent. You should still take a glance at your clam rather regularly to look for the snails. HTH. Duncan. ------------------ Please tread lightly on the reefs of the world. Jeffrey,
Beautiful trio of fish there. Does the six-line wrasse eat the critters of the sandbed and liverock? nanook |

Jeff,
Very niceThe baby clams you'll be getting will need added care. These clams are not the same as a 3-4" clam, they have special needs.....good luck |

Beautiful tank and pictures. Do you still have PC lights only? I'd read on this board that Maxima clams needed MH light, and that Deresa clams would be okay under PCs. Good luck and keep us posted on your success.

I suggest you do a search on all the BB's to find the info your looking for. Smaller clams need more food and less light than bigger clams. DT's phytoplankton my work....

I do have a 175wat 10,00k MH now, with 2 28watt PC actinics.
What are the major differences in care with a smaller clam versus one a little larger? Thanks! |
