need help big reef tank set up from scrach

need help i am setting up 3 tanks from scrach here and all 3 are reef tanks am needing some help to get my live rock going i want good tipes of rock going with good color and plant life going on them the 3 tanks i am doing are a truvu 40 r a 240 r and a 400 r custom all are with wet dry fliters ! i have made over 400 lbs of man made rock for them do to size of them ! but where i live at there is not good places to get life rock at ! all thay can do is order the fish and outher things for me ! i have gone with the best of everything so far in the tanks !


a little history have been a way from tanks now for 10 years time but have not lost the love for them

Hello Rocking : I would set up all the tanks and add all of your dry rock and order live sand and a bulk box of live rock . Add in the live sand that will seed your rock and split the live rock up proportionatly between all set-ups. When placing the live rock on top of your rock make sure the powerheads are pointed in there direction to spread the coralline algea from the live ones onto the homemaid rocck... Welcome to Reefland and good luck !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. It can take up to 6 months for the coralline algea to spread so you can also scrape some of the coralline off of the live rock that has olat of growth and spread it around on the other rock to speed up the process.
