Makes me worry!! i Don't plan on adding any thing for at least 2more weeks and then may be one fish. the bio set up is so dif form my fresh i don"t want it to crash on me. what do you think?

Think you shouldn't try to pre-plan stocking milestones...testing will tell you when the time has come, an even then you ought to wait a couple more weeks at least after the cycle has finished.

Rocks turning from green to white is a sign of die off...its decomposition and bacteria. If theres a lot of it, I would consider that the rocks are uncured. Research how to cure live rock. You can do it right in your display tank while it cycles. Do not add livestock during this time.

I had cured my rocks before adding them. I had my tank running one week with just water. then sand for two days by then it had been a week and a half so I placed the rocks in. its just started happening on Sat night when I went to bed I saw some spotting

It is just the green algae doing it. the rocks all have purple and dark greenish brown algae with no change. going to check levels and get back to you on that

That happened with all my rock too. Wasn't a big deal, but did look kind of nasty for a while. You'll end up getting cobweb looking stuff in those areas too. You can always scrub and siphon it out if it bothers you, but doesn't hurt to leave it. A little bit of decay is needed to fuel the cycle anyway.

What are your levels at? Are you checking them everyday and what test kits are you using?
