Angry this is no good

i was looking through some of my maine fish books . I think i have fond a problem that causes lots of people who are starting out to have lots of trobel. the pictures in the book were probably overlayed but they are totaly misleading. one of the pages has a moorish idol a yello tang and a few other fish in what couldnt be more then a 40gal tank. they also had pictures of butterfly fish in reef tanks. if some one was to by this book look at the pictur and try to recreat it in their home aquarium they would have a horible time and loos a lot of money. and this is not the only book i have seen this in. why do larg companes do this?

A lot of the time, they don't even use an actual picture, they have a graphic artist "paste" images together to create a visually spectacular and pleasing image. It boosts sales....capitalism.

You must be talking about pictures like this one from Marineland's site promoting their little Eclipse tanks:

You have to remember that their target audience for that product is someone who is a total newcomer with no knowledge of marine fish husbandry whatsoever. Also, it is quite possible that the idiot who designed that graphic has no knowledge of marine fish husbandry whatsoever.

Yeah, Ninong, I remember that pic. I want to say that I have even seen a similar one by that company that even had plastic plants in the photo there, along with the gravel substrate, and 18 other fish in a 20 gallon eclipse system.
