    Update 90 gal

ok so my phosphates seem to have gone really really low cant realy get a reading with this test kit, amonia back to 0 nitrite and nitrate dont seem to be present and if they are its in small quanitys that are so low they barely register.
now i came into a issue my xenia had rebounded and now is bad again , theres a wierd loooking polyp or something next to it its kinda clear and reminds me of a large yellow polyp with stubyer tentacles that are shorter. i can try to get a pic but the camera dosent get a good picture of it close up in focus anyone have any ideas by description ?
also i found my blue lykenia dead a few weeks ago literly torn up not earten just torn up like the arms were split i know it couldnt of been alive so i threw it out. i dont think it was the eel cause it wasnt missing any large areas like you would expect i cant seem to catch the dam flamhead dottyback with food in a bottle in the tank he must be able to get out or something else is eating it and leaving

    Re: Update 90 gal

3 months ago, you had 25 fish in that tank. You're down to 19 now, I hope you're not planning on any more fish adds. IMO, you are way overstocked for a 90 reef and should trim livestock down by at least 2/3'rds for that tank.
Without even getting into your invert losses, you're presumably lost 7 fish since your December post Toadstool question + sps and stocking need advice from somone other the a lfs employe according to the stocking list you posted then.
I think you are going to continue to have these problems until you do something to adress the overcrowding, and incompatible species selections.

By my count, you've lost the following fish since Christmas:

    1 Orange spot goby
    1 Spotted Mandarin
    1 yellow damsel
    1 yellow tail blue damsel
    1 green wrasse
    1 Boxfish
    1 Pajama Cardinal

    New since that post:

    1 Long horned cowfish

You've done a lot of good things since then, like switching to RO and eliminating the bio balls. I still think you need to adress this issue of overstocking though.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.

The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

    Re: Update 90 gal

eh im sorry i forgot a few of the fish

    1 yellow damsel
    1 yellow tail blue damsel
    1 green wrasse
1 Boxfish ( its the long horned cowfish i realized as it grew it was mislabled in the store)

i only had gotten rid of half the bioballs and thats when the amonia had spiked and it went into a cycle of sorts again that is over now so i plan ro remove the rest soon

i havent added anything fish wise since i had the issue with the regal except for the cleaner wrasse i was able to get the ick taken care of if thats what it was and it hasnt resurfaced.
i have a concern as if i remove the powerfilter too soon i will get a bad amonia spike again and still dont know if i should finish removeing the bioballs or powerfilter first

there seem to be no true agression issues between the clowns
i think the orange spot goby may have fallen pray to the filter went thru the overflow and got stuck in the tube that brings water to the filter cuause i found what apeared to be a skeleton there ( i had a firefish do that before also)

the mandarin its posible the eel got him i guess i think i want him out of my tank hes got a bit more agressive and eats about 4-5 small silversides a feeding

recently ive been spending 2-12 hours a day observing the tank while watching a movie, feeding, doing waterchanges basicly ive been staying in the room so watching the behaviors of the fish. while feeding the eel sometimes will get a bit close to the cleaner wrasse or orchid dottyback wories me a tiny bit
