melanurus wrasse question

Newbie here.......my son takes care of our DT and stocks it for the most part.......he had to have a melanurus wrasse........beautiful fish. It's very busy, all over the tank, not afraid of anything (including us)......well, my son bought a clam about 2 weeks ago.....well, he and I argue on the cause of its demise......I of course know I'm correct since I work at home and watch the little sucker all day......the wrasse killed it. My further proof came today as I watched the little devil devour a brittle sea star that had been hiding in the rock... hmmmmmmm, now I realize I haven't seen the cleaner shrimp in a while, or the hermit crab.......also a few of the snails.......and what else are we missing that I don't know about???? Question is.........do they ALL devour the other creatures in the tank??
I think my son needs to catch this fella and take him back to the store before I put my two Tangs in (that are in the QT tank)......oh, and do they bother the soft coral? Some of our coral is looking a little unhappy and I catch him bothering that too!!!

All wrasses are iffy in reef tanks. Some are more peaceful than others, but many of them are pure terrors. I think you and your son just found one of them. It would be better suited to a fish only tank.
