    Re: candy cane coral

It can be a while. I have one with about 7 heads. One of mine was angry for a week or so before it stopped and completely recovered. I had another head that still is emerging. It was receding a lot at my LFS from the positioning of the branch and light. In fact, I think it was bleaching at the time. It slowly came around, but it's been about 5 months.

    Re: candy cane coral

IMO, these aren't the best beginner corals out there. Some may disagree with me. Not sure your level of expertise/research done here, but trumpets and candy canes require a lot of flow and good, strong lighting. I have moved my candy canes about 5 or 6 times before they were happy. Dont get me wrong - when right, these can be the most beautiful and vibrant corals in a tank - at night and day, but I just think there are better starter options out there for a tank.
