Looking real nice Twisted! The hammer has grown alot since you got it. And the orange shoulder is a good looking specimen too. Can't wait to see it under 20k halides. Shimmer town. I entertained the thought of having halides but the heat would be too much.

Halides will be nice, and I'm sure 180 gallons isn't going to be affected much by any extra heat.

If you're mainly after shimmer, you might want to check out the Kessil model 150 LED pendants. They're only going for about $285 a pop. Each one is roughly equivalent to a 250 halide in terms of PAR/intensity, and they actually shimmer much more than any halide I've ever seen. It's totally worth a road trip to find a LFS that carries and displays them.

They are straight 10k though, so you'd still need to supplement with some sort of actinics.
They've got a new model coming out too that is supposedly variably adjustable from 10-20k.

I had looked at the kessil and think the are real nice. I just don't have the time for anyore projects. The light I have is gonna b enough work. I have vaulted ceilings so I'm gonna have to figure that out and gonna lose my canopy :-(. But I think when the tank lights up... It'll b worth it. The next vid update will have shimmer!

very nice setup you have there. i seen that little bit of coral in the right hand corner, the one with the glowing green tips what is that? looks similar to what is growing on the same rock as my mushrooms.

yeah was up the front. it looks very similar to torch coral or along the same lines, if i get a pic up soon maybe you could identify it. its a shame cus its on the same rock as my mushroom and they have grown since and there covering them up or it covers the shrooms

That would be my frogspawn. It's been on the road to recovery for a few months now after it suffered brown jelly disease. I had 7 heads and lost all but 1. My true percs are taking food care of it. The larger one a little to the left of it is a torch

i have 5 heads of either frogspawn or torch or maybe something else. is there a way to frag or transfer to another without destroying it?? because it will just take over my shrooms. sorry to be intrusive on your thread

I know they can b fragged and it's pretty simple but I've never done them before. Maybe throw a thread up or google. My guess would be a scalpel and some crazy glue gel

Got my new lights today! A little ticked since they were supposed to have 15k xm's in it and I'm stuck with 10k. I'll order some nicer bulbs once the cube is done. Love the shimmer!

Thanks guys! Wait till u see what I have for the new lights. I'm gonna try 15k radiums on the sides with a 10k in the middle.... Lol. I could only afford 2 so the middle will have to wait a bit. I'm hoping blue and yellow don't make it look green

Can't wait Twisted! Them halide bulbs aren't cheap but neither is replacing 6 T5 HO's. I'm looking forward to doing that in a few months.
