how can you tell if a clownfish is interested in lta . it seems to get close and barely touch it and last night it was eating the waste coming out of the nems mouth . I have read that false perculas don't host lta . any experiences or advise
thanks

Hmmm...I've had Percs and Occelaris lay claim to Frogspawn, Toadstools, Kenya Tree Coral and even a feather duster, but none of them were interested in my bubble tip anemone.
All I can tell you is there's no sure bet when trying to pair up a fish with a nem. Either they will or they won't, and there's really not much you can do to influence them otherwise.
I have noticed that when I introduced my clownfish, that their first order of business was to find a small area of the tank to call home, and they generally never left those areas. I have succesfully moved frogspawns and toadstools into their territory and had them then adopt those corals as hosts, but they wouldn't swim across the tank for them. Anemones are much more difficult to do that with since they are able to move around. If they don't like that spot, they'll just move out.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.

Blow up a picture of your LTA hosting your type of Clown, tape it to the tank, your clown will catch on. Most captive bred clowns have an issue catching on, that I have noticed, and need alittle help.
Thanks for the advice I'll give it a shot
I've had 2 different tank bred clowns and both of them took to my BTA. It took a couple weeks but they finally both took to it. I think the picture idea may work b/c when I first got my BTA only one clown hosted and the other did not know what to do. It eventually learned and was starting to host my duncan but then when I got rid of the one clown (It was too aggressive) the other clown took right to it. Just give it time.
**From reefer to reef....I wonder if there is a connection...?**
i taped up some pictures today i will let you know what happens
thanks
