So, I am a salt water beginner .... Fresh water expertMy first tank is a 90 long. Have had it set up about 3 mths. The fish are doing great but really what interests me is coral! So, everything was great, have a few frags but nothing seems to be really growing, after loosing a big beautiful leather, I took my water in to my favorite salt water store and find that everything is great... except my salinity! I totally feel like a dork not to even check the salt! WAY TOOOOOO HIGH! So I did a water change, 15 gal of fresh RO and 8 Gal of Salt RO got me down to a safer level. Anyway, my pulsing xenia was doing great with the "off the chart" salt, but now its all balled up and not pulsing! I don't want to loose them like the first batch... could it be the big water change? Its the only coral that is unhappy! How much circulation do they really like? I have it half way down from the lights in a quite a bit of circulation... should I just leave it? I have supplements I add every 10 days and I do oyster feed... Any suggestions?
