I've got those same worms. Do an image search on: Cirratulids. They are harmless and are good hitchhikers to have.

Yes. They help keep the sandbed clean and also help keep the top layer of sand moving. Their population will only grow with available nutrients. They're good guys.

I found this guy in my tank 7 months ago. Obviously he's grown. Took a pic to the LFS and they said if he's not bothering anything, don't worry about him. They thought he might be a bubble but I'm not so sure. He has not divided or reproduced but I want to be sure he's a good guy. Can anyone tell me? Thanks.

It appears to be some form of an Anemone. Don't know which though. It will sting other corals if they come in contact.

Appreciate the help Reef Madness. I was hoping someone would be able to ID the anemone for me. Is it a glass anemone or is it something else. I kind of like him so I am hoping he's not a pest. I feel good about the fact that he has not multiplied in 7 months and he seems to have a wide base, which is different from the glass anemone pics I have seen elsewhere. Anybody have any ideas? Would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Not an expert but it does not look like a glass nem to me. I found a glass nem in my tank last night and it was luckily anchored in the substrate. I just scooped him up with a measuring spoon and disposed. Mine looked much more dingy in color and had a very small base with a small ring of light spots around his mouth. He looked identical to photos I googled to make the ID.

Awesome. Thanks Shooter Rick. I was really hoping someone would say that. I'm going to do some more research because I'd really like to know what kind he is.

Chrisfont23, does it look like majano to you? I haven't seen any pics of majano that look like this but you're right. If that's what he is, he needs to go. He has been in the tank with fish and coral and hasn't bothered anything (that I know of). He's not close to the coral so that really wasn't a concern for me. I just figure 7 months is a long time without causing concern. I sure don't know what he is. If you have a pic or a link, that would be awesome. Thanks for your input.

OK, thanks again for your help. If you do see anything that looks like him, let me know. I'd really like to know what he is.
