Garbage bags? safe to hold saltwater?

I need to take a lot of water out (about 50 gallons) of my 100g saltwater aquarium so my dad and I can lift the aquarium. It currently has no fish, coral, or shrimp in it; just live rock, sand, and a slug we found in the live rock. I have nothing clean to put the saltwater in so that i can put it back in the tank. Is a kirkland kitchen garbage bag fine to put saltwater in? I have to put that water back into the tank after we are done lifting the tank.

Most garbage bags leach toxic chemicals into the water the way that most plastics leach into soil. Fair warning if you use then you will be adding toxins to your tank.

Poly Bags | Polyethylene Bags | Poly Liners. Maybe you can get a hold of something like these?

I recommend food grade 5gals or carboys, 5gal food grade buckets would be cheaper. If you have a brew store near by you can get a food grade trash can that can hold 50gals and a single 5gal food grade bucket but you would have to check the prices on 10 5gal buckets vs. one food grade bucket and food grade trash can.

I agree. I use the food grade brute trash cans for storing and mixing water.
