    I NEED REAL HELP

I don't know where this thread is supposed to go, but I need real help. I have a 100 gallon tank that has just finished cycling. There are 2 different species of 'peaceful' chromis, and 1 peppermint shrimp. 2 other chromis also died, and were under some heavy rock work. So my LFS told me that I had to grab those dead fish out or they will pollute my tank water. So I turned off my water pump and did NOT turn off the protein skimmer and phosban. While I was working on the top of the tank, all that black protein was being sucked out of the skimmer and was going all over the sump. the brown bubbles were everywhere in one of the chambers of the sump and it was overflowing to the next chamber, the return pump chamber. I managed to take out some of the brown bubbles with a cup. The water doesn't look brown nor that dirty, but I can assure you that it isn't clear. Would it be okay to pump that water back to the main tank still? or should I replace that saltwater? Also, for the Chromis and Peppermint shrimp I have in my tank, I literally took down EVERY live rock to pick up the dead fish. Will they live? All the stuff from the rock and sand is flying everywhere, but they are starting to settle down.
AND! aside from all that badluck, I got a really small cut on my hand, while handling the Live rock. I forgot there was a cut on my hand and I dipped it into the tank! there is no blood flying around anywhere, well no noticeable blood atleast. I only dabbed my hand like 5 times and it stopped bleeding. and each dab had like 1/2 of a MILLImeter of blood. Is that going to harm the saltwater in any way?
And - since I disturbed the sandbed and all, whats the worse that will happen?

    Re: I NEED REAL HELP

    Hello,
No real damage done on any account. The reef sees major storms and does just fine. An small algae bloom is about the worst thing that would happen. The skimmer will soon remove the overspill. Watch your nitrate level and perform a water change if they exceed 10ppm.

Being diabetic I am always concerned about infection. Your tank will be fine as stated above but make sure you disinfect yourself and keep an eye out for bacterial infection.

    Hello,
Although bacterial infections from reef tanks are quite rare they can be very serious. Take action quickly if redness or swelling persists (lasts more than a few days).
