Thumbs down Coral Bleaching from base; why?

I have a saltwater tank that I bought off of a friend of mine who propagated the coral himself. I've had it for about a year now, with no problems. No changes in chemistries or temperatures, coral healthy, and fish happy. I am starting to see however, the coral is bleaching at the base. What could be causing this?

Again, no changes in temp, chems, etc.

You'll have to be much more specific. What kind of coral is it? Can you get a picture of it? What livestock do you have? What are the exact water parameters? Is it just one coral, all corals or one species of coral? What size tank? How much rock? What lights? Etc...

Well if all things being relative in your tank, your lighting would be the only thing suspect at this point.

Exactly. How old is the light? They lose life and brightness the older they get.
