I have my eye on a certain Green Bubble Tip Anemone. He has been in the LFS for about a month now and is thriving. One thing that really worries me is the red foot of that particular anemone. The red foot really stands out because of how bright green that GBTA is. Is that red foot something to be worried about?
Let me tell you about my tank. It is a 100g reef with 2x 120w LED UV emitters, 1200 gph return pump, 2x 1400 gph powerheads, 100 lbs LR, and 80 lbs Live sand. I use pre-mixed RO saltwater from the LFS with the anemone. Sump: NAC-6 Protein skimmer, Phosban 550, filter sock, and a refugium with a 2" sand bed and Chaetomorpha Algae. 15lbs LR. I currently have 1 Green Chromis and a 'Purple' Chromis (not sure what he is, LFS said he was a purple chromis but he really looks like a blenny) I am going to add an Oscellaris Clownfish pair the same time I purchase an anemone.
Is my tank suitable for anemones?
and how about that GBTA red foot? -stress? irritation? something? anything? natural?
