My 100g is slowly becoming a SPS dominated reef. I dose a 2-part buffer Calcium & Alkalinity and Iodide - tested weekly after getting accustomed to dosing. I have a bare-bottom refugium with a lump of chaetomorpha in it; phosban and protein skimmer. 1200 gph return pump and 2x 1400 gph hydor koralia evolution powerheads. 2x 120w LED UV emitting pendants. 100lbs live rock, 3 inch main tank live sand bed. I use RO/DI water premixed with Instant Ocean Reef Crystals, water change 20% every other week. There is currently one green chromis, 1 clownfish, and 1 coral beauty angelfish that doesn't touch coral at all! What else do I need before I begin adding more SPS coral? I currently have 1 Acropora frag of some kind that is living, if not, Thriving. Do you think I will need more water flow than what I already have? I hear and read that SPS coral need high flow. Will adding a wavebox help? another hydor powerhead? a mp40w vortech? What else do I need for a SPS reef?
