Leather coral going white on tips

Hi all, this is on behalf of a friend who has had his tank setup for nearly 2 years. His lighting has just blown so needs a new unit. My question is his leather coral is starting to go white on the tips, is this due to the lighting not being on or will it be something else? And is there anyway to save his coral if it is dying off?

Weird one. Can you get a pic from him? Usually when a Leather dies off, it like slowly disolves and tissues kinda peals off. The white tips, hmm. Sure its a leather? White tips sounds like a SPS.

I'll try and get a pic, can I upload a pix through an iPhone onto this forum app? Aswell as the white tip on the back it looks like its dissolving but could just be shedding, I think it's a leather, it looks to me like some strange toadstool coral.

Easy way to try and upload it is to put it into your pics on your computer first, then up load it from there. Don't know if you can load it through your Iphone

Can't upload a pic till the weekend, he should have his new lighting unit sorted this week. So be able I get a better picture.
