My xenia is doing awesome! but as i watch the frag which is now becoming a possible fraggable coral in the very near future i see that one of the older polyps doesnt open! it pulses but instead of looking like a hand opening and closing it looks like a heart! its just beating and never opens i watched the polyp for a good 10 minutes and never did it once open. what should i do? will this go away? is it a flaw that can kill the whole thing? help me out here please if you could.
thank you Jon ------------------ |

Relax..you will be fine. I have xenia growing in several areas of my tank. The areas with a little less flow or even more..will pulse exactly like you mentioned. Is this the xenia elongeta?? I imagine it is. I think it has to do with the current. Sally

tell you the truth i dont know the sci. name the guy that sold me his lr. just said "its blue bar xenia" but as i look at it more and more it only looks blue if you look from the top of the tank down and not so much when you are looking in from the front glass.....is there any way i could tell for sure any destinguishing characteristics?
thanks for your input sally. Its just that one polyp like i said the rest of them look awesome as usual. Jon ------------------ |
