Go on vacation. I did, and I have a 240g tank. All my lighting is on timers, and your fish will be fine for a week. I know it sounds mean, but you won't lose a fish for not feeding them in a weeks time.

RM is right. No worries. You can also invest in an automatic feeder. A week of flakes won't kill them if you keep on top of your tank. If you dose, check out "Drews Dosing Pumps."

+1 with the above. Before my 1 week vacation, I made sure my auto top off was in good working order and the reservoir was full enough to handle the evaporation. I cleaned the float switches and double checked everything. I was still worried about the tank during the trip but all ended up well.

    hm,

Blocked return to sump (would expose both my return pump and topoff pump to air and overfill my display)
faulty level sensor (could expose topoff pump and disturb salinity)
power failure (I have no backup)

Guess you have to think trough what can happen for your system and take action if you cannot accept the risk

    Yes, true =)

I think I will spend some time on how to setup a better control system.... and secure loose parts :P
