today i found algae

today after doing my tank ckecks i found that i had small dots of brown algae on the front glass of my tank which leads me to beleave i am leaving my lights on to long
i have not set up my timers just yet but normaly they are on for a couple of hours but today i went out and forgot to turn them off which might have been the prob
should i leave them off for a couple of days
as im going away for 2 day it might be better if my other half just left the tank alone

No reason to shut em off, algae on the glass is going to happen. Leaving them on for only a couple of hours is not a big deal. Better half should be able to handle it. We all have to clean the glass off. Just wait unitl you have to scrape off Coralline Algae.
