So I finally grabbed my credit card and did some shopping yesterday for my new system. My space is limited so I bought a 29 gallon tank. I could accommodate 55 gallon but my wife had the last word.
I intend to set up FOWLR and add corals as soon as I can. So here is what I bought:

*32 lbs of Reef Saver Eco Dry Live Rock from BRS
*Reef Octopus Hang on the back skimmer OCT BH 100
*Red Sea Coral Pro Salt
*20lbs Caribbean Live sand original grade substrate (may not be enough)
*Deep six hydrometer (just to save some bucks for now)
*Reef Master test kit (for the same reason as above)
I still have 2 power heads to buy and I didn’t decide yet. I found ridiculously cheap power heads for $23 (set of two, total flow 1600gpm, free S&H). Maybe I will start from this and run it during the cycling process. The reef tank needs a lot of water movement as I understand so maybe 1600 would not be too much.
The Marineland Reef Capable LED lighting system is on my list as well but I will purchase it in a few days. I don’t want to start from the cheaper lights and upgrade later. The total cost would be higher than it should be.
I can’t wait to do reef scaping. Today I will paint the back of the tank black and wait for the shipment.
