They are spreading.
Is this natural or common ? or does this mean the coral is stressed ? or something else like it needs more food ???
Common. My guess is that the rock they are on is quite full, and they are trying to spread out. Growing.
Mmmm.. The rock is not full. In fact I can now see the actual rock below after the polyps started falling. :-(
From wha I can see, you hav nothing to worry about. Those polyps that have dropped off look very healthy to me. Have they attached themselves to the rock yet?
Not yet.. I will post a picture of the coral when the polyps are closed...Cheers
Here it is.
Still looking normal to me. How do the ones that popped off look? Same as the mother colonly?
I have so far seen 4 sets of polyps (2 polyps in each set) falling off. Only one of the sets has attached itself to a rock. All other polyps eventually end up in some corner and never opened up. It's only the first couple of days they look like the mother colony. Wondering what.....!
Get some frag plugs and glue the others to them. They must be doing great. Try to put them in a lil hole in your rock to hold them until they grab on. Or lightly rubber band them to a rock.
