My salinity is at .0028, kind of high considering that i make all my top off water at .0024 and when i started my tank it was at that salinity. What causes it to go up like this?? and how do i remedy it?
Thanks Andy

Wait are you saying you top-off with salt water? This would be your problem if you do. You need to top off with pure water, this will keep any harmful minerals and salts from buiulding up in your system. HTH

I agree with hpc, when the water evaps just PURE h2o evaps not the salt so, you are adding more salt to the system which will raise your salinity...HTH

Andy,
Pure fresh water evaporates ONLY.....you should replace with pure fresh water. The salt does not evaporate |

On a note of caution: just becuase you get evaporation of pure h20 ,dont forget to still check your salinity every now and then. It has a tendecy to sneek downward if not checked regularly.IMO
