Neon Gobies - Can they live in groups?

Hello All! Just curious if 3-4 or 5-6 tank raised juv. neon gobies (all bought together) could live together in a 125? Anyone ever tried this? As they matured would they fight? Or seperate? I'd like to keep them as a small school. or group if you will.

Some authors say they won't, just curious

I`m not really sure but I do know the one`s I`ve seen
in the wild are always in pairs.I`ve never seen more than 2 in one place close to each other. They are usually on top of a coral like
brain or porities.

I have neon gobies, and my only regret is not buying 5 or 6 instead of just 3. Two of them are a definite pair, and the smallest one spends his life getting chased and nipped by the other two. They represent such a small bioload that I would recommend 6 for your tank.

So if I got a group, they would pair off and go their own ways. The remaining neons would probaly fight or go alone?

I have a 55, how much do you recommend? I have 2 percs in the tank. I am afraid the gobies will not get enough food.
