Got money to blast on corals!
I am thinking of getting a pumping xenia elongata, and a golden toadstool from atlantis aquatics... I was thinking of also ordering another powerhead. any ideas for addition/substitution?
also does xenia always grow fast? (stupid question huh?) mark |

organic, how is the current near the xenia? Xenia is supposed to do well near really strong current.

You know you just had a big die off, because of your vacation. Why don't you take it slowly and wait a little while for your tank to stabilize before stocking up the tank again?
Reef tanks require patience... simular to growing Bonzi trees or gardening.

I will agree with icemark completely. You just had a major episode with your tank. It will take time for it to balance. You must be sure that all parameters are a-okay to add anything to it. If you don't and go ahead with it, you'll just be killing something else.

actually, the only thing that died was "zippy" my perc, he was not doing well in the first place, I tested as soon as i got home, and Nitrates were miraculously >10ppm! im going to take you advice for the most part, and take it slow, but I still want to add a few small things...

Mark,
I must have misunderstood your post: Quote:
Please wait before adding any more flora or fauna to your tank.

I spoke prematurely, the bluebanded hermit went to a different shell, and and last night, I saw all of the other hermits... The 5 ceriths are dead though, still, 5 ceriths and a sick perc isnt really alot...

Hi Fishkid
![]() I hope you dont take this the wrong way but Im trying to understand who you are trying to convince, yourself, or everyone else? I say you should wait till your tank has more time to stabilize....obviously your perc. and the snails died for a reason. less than 10 on yer nitrates is ok but its not Great!. Its too bad you dont live in Florida near me or I would give you a frag of xenia and a frag of toadstool ![]()

Not taken the wrong way
If everyone feels so strongly about that, I will wait a while. I will replace the perc though, but I will wait for everything else. If you remember from past threads, that perc was very sickly, and I didnt think it would live long. all other critters seem fine. I was set on ordering some fish when I got home...mark |
