Post Help w/brown specs

I have the wtr surface of my nano filled with some brown specs, except for an area in the direction of where the PH's are pointing. I did a wtr chg, and it's back. I check wtr param. and everything seems to be ok. Anything you put in the tank, comes out filled with brown specs. Could it be some sort of algae bloom? What should I do?
TIA
Susan

I looks like some sort of grease. Hope this makes sense. Come to think of it, it started when I started feeding the frozen gel bazed foods. Could this be the cause?

Susan,

I have the same thing happen in my 25 gallon. I scooped some of it out, and the container i used was covered in brown algae. The film that develops seem to be brown algae in my case. To stir thsi up and maybe prevent this, try pointing the powerheads a little up so it will break the surface, thus moving and preventing the film to form. I also feed frozen spirulina in gelly like form i guess, and that's only two times a week for supplementation. Are you also getting green algae on teh glass? May have too much protein in tank?

Regards,
Ilham
