What is living in my maze coral
I have a maze corals that has a very small opening at the top. I mean small. Maybe 1/2 inch long and barely open. well, yesterday I was feeding the fish and a piece of silverside was on the maze. I left it there to see if the maze wanted to eat it as it does somethings. This piece of silverside was probably 1/2 inch long. I was looking at the maze and all the sudden something in the small opening on the maze grabbed the silverside and beant the silverside in half and pulled it into the opening. It did it so fast I didn't see what it was. Do you know what could be living in there.

Look carefully at the opening - is it somewhat round? If so you might have a parasitic shrimp. If this is indeed what you have Dr. Shimek and Eric Borneman are trying to gather as much info about these as possible. Please pop over to reef central and post in either Dr. Shimek's or Eric's forums (you have to be registered to do so).
Here's some links to past posts. Remember, you'll probably need to be registered on reef central to view them. It's worth it, lots of pics of these critters. http://www.reefcentral.com/vbulletin...rasitic+shrimp http://www.reefcentral.com/vbulletin...rasitic+shrimp http://www.reefcentral.com/vbulletin...rasitic+shrimp
