I have had a green serpent star (Ophioderma brevispinum) for some time now. I have over several months lost several pocelain (aka anemone, Neopetrolisthes ohshimai and Neopetrolisthes lamarkii) crabs, and several emerald green crabs (mithrax) seemingly overnight. Now I'm missing a neon goby (Gobisoma oceanopsis) too. I don't think I have any rouge red-eyed crabs or mantis shrimp in the tank. The only other possibility, other than poor health, I can see is maybe the large green serpent star is aeting them. I feed him scallop pieces or shrimp every other day. I know he is capable of eating fish from anecdotal experiences here on the boards but will they eat crabs?
Thanks! |

I think they'll eat pretty much anything they can get their arms on....not really a very reef safe critter unfortunately.

They are killers man. Best thing to do is get him out. Get a banded serpent or a red one.
