Any one see something wrong with this?

    Hi
I am considering going skimmerless, with a hang on refugium (being that my tank hasnt been drilled) and seeding the Cr@p out of it with detrivore kits, from different sources, and after my tank is well over a year old, getting a Mandarin Dragonet. I am now looking into the CPR aquafuge 24" hangon. <-- anyone have experience? good?bad?

its 30 gal. I have heard success stories in 7 gal nanos, so I figure as long as the pod population is replenished every so often it should be sufficient to keep a dragonet happy as could be! I was wondering about setting up a pod farm. would a dragonet eat Sea bunnies from IPSF? Has anyone ever weened them to dry food?

I would not keep a Mandarin in a tank the size of yours. You need at least a 60 gallon tank to keep a Mandarin. I think anything smaller would have trouble keeping up with its needs, even with a productive refugium.

I am pretty sure brine alone will not sustain them, they need pods. I really dont think going skimmerless wil help your system. Why not get a refugium and keep your skimmer?

I want to get a refugium, one that goes under hte tank, but Im not good with "tubing" or the consept of setting one up, I know how to set one up, but I always feel like im missing something. Like, could I have the output of my skimmer go straight to the refugium? or will it not have enough flow? and can I do this without drilling anything? I was thinging along the lines of a 20L (I would do bigger, but I dont trust the floor too much, 200 more lbs in the same spot is enough!)

does anyone have a complete diagram of how the whole system looks??
