In this hobby patience is not a virtue,,,,,its mandatory.
that's a great idea!!!
and I think we should maybe hmmm..... whats the right word for it "steal" the idea and do it here
it would give ppl with lights all ready to go but no money chances to get corals(maybe me) I'd say 2 months(have to get the nerve to frag them) and I'd have some shrooms ready.
If we do this I'm in!
they're also thinking about trading macros, bristle worms etc. I would gladly trade some C. racemosa encrusted w/ pods for some bristle worms.
Sounds GREAT to me too.
But where would one get empty 35mm canisters???

i think its a great idea....hopefully by the time i come home this idea will be in full affect and i may be able to put a coral or two in my tank w/out having to drop 50 bucks....its a shame xenia has such a poor survival rate via snail mail.....i could supply enough xenia for a small nation.

Actually it was not my intent to "steal" aLittletank's idea. Instead I wanted to appluad the idea , Allen , Nagel , and the rest of the R.C. (read all the reefing community) members for taking the initative to better the hobby. Shipping is probably the most costly single item we deal with (rare or exotic species not included) as reefers trying to populate our tanks. Many hobbiest , such as myself live many miles from a LFS.If we could find a way to ship many of the hardier species less expensively it would help us all. Also I feel that if shipping were successfully tackled then many of us would start fragging/propagating and this would , IMO , be better for the hobby and all involved. As for starting a list of our own , most of us belong to R.C. so starting a new list would be a whole lot of doubling of work. I thought that those interested could participate , all on a single list , thus increasing the diversity even more.
