Cualerpa ? The wonder drug?
Hey gang,
I just picked up the lights for my wifes 65 gallon tank. Hamilton retro 1 10 K 175 watt and 2 55 w pc blue actinics. We hane read a lot of thing on the use of varoius microfauna and macro algea to aid in the maintainence of h2o quality. She plans to use an ecosystem approach along with cured live rock. What is the best type of caulerpa? should we include a variety of macro algeas? Also what is the choice type of sand for the main tank? Looking forward to replies: MROK 12 ![]() |

It just so happens that SPASSE has the answer to your sand question on his site, so here it is: http://spasse.homestead.com/DeepSandBeds.html He uses three different species of Caulerpa in his refugium. The important thing is to keep more than one species so that you reduce the risk of it all deciding to go sexual at the same time. Also, if you live in California, you should probably avoid the species that are about to be banned there. Ninong ![]()
