Live rock supports
Well, at the end of the month I should have my tank (again). I was wondering if it is OK to use 4" PVC pipe drilled and cut in 3 to 4 inch lengths to support the liverock in the sandbed. I've seen this done before but with a smaller diameter pipe. I'm using 4" cause at the moment that's all I got. Any foreseen problems? Thanks, Bill

Nothing wrong with using 4" PVC. In fact, as long as the rock is large enough not to fall in, the larger diameter PVC would be more stable. Remember to drill lots of holes in the PVC for circulation.

Hi Ironcrab
![]() I use the 2" PVC supports w/eggcrate on top of them....Love em! I 2nd ninongs comment on drilling lots of holes! FWIW i have seen many ppl use just the PVC supports 4" w/out the eggcrate and have had success......I have a maroon gold clown that loves to fan the sand bed and I didnt want him to totally engineer my SB so that is one of the main reasons I went w/the eggcrate as well HTH ![]()
