He was eating and swimming just fine yesterday. This morning I found him more of less floating at the top of the tank. Feed the tank and he didn't eat. About a 1/2 hour later he was at the bottom of the tank swimming like he was drunk and then appeared to have a convolsion, curled up and dies shortly after. I did a water change to the tank. Any ideas what happended to an apparantly healty fish? I had him for little more than a year.

I tested--a water change was due but nothing serious. I did look at the little fella before I flushed him--looked fine except for a few bites he took to the fins after he passed. I replaced him with two Domino's--totally cool fishies!

These things are hard to identify, especially from a description, my guess is two things, either a swimbladder infection/problem,
or a neurological bacterial infection, both are lethal, and there is little you can do to stop them. How long had you had him? What were your water params? |
