Got corals today
I got 3 capnella frags, 2 2" green star polyp mats, 1 blue mushroom, 1 purple mushroom, and a mushroom shell, that has about 3 mushrooms on it
one of them looks bad, should I try and cut off the bad part or leave it as it is? so excited ![]() |

the second day has been good and bad for the corals, the 2 smallest capnella frags are open and looking very nice, so are the single mushroom polyps, but the sick one is dead, or is I think is because I found a bristle worm eating its body, when I woke up, one of the mushrooms on the shell is also gone and I found a mucas type substane on a rock so I'm guessing it found the powerhead,
the largest capnella looks really bad today too, I dosed some iodine to help but there is nothing else I can think of doing? Also the green star polyps haven't opened, I think I heard once they take a long time to aclimate, is this true? |

Stars can take weeks to open, if they were realy stressed. As long as the base still has color and is not peeling they are ok.

The stars have only been in your tank for a little over a day, I would just watch them for now. If the discoloration gets any worse or it peels more cut that part off. But for now give them a chance to rebound.
