i will be geting a new 72 gal bow front to replace my 55 gal and i would like to put in a dsb. right now the tank has about 1-2 inches of aragonit. i want to change to a nicer looking white sand. i was told that i could NOT add the new sand with what i have now because it would cure and become almost cement like not to sure about that but if so should i just use a few cups and seed the new sand and one other question i have should i have the LR and the sand or on the glass of the tank

I will let others that know more answer your first question, but as far as leaning your live rocks on the glass, I would NOT do so. I mean, it is okay i guess, but then if it's all the way on teh bottom and you put more rocks on top of it, it will stress that side of the glass. I would not want to come home to a wet carpet. I would make a steady rockwork in the middle of the tank, or towards the back, but not necessarily on teh glass itself.
