coral banded shrimp vs Cleaner and Peppermint shrimp

Hey all,

Just wondering, do coral banded shrimps get along with other shrimps? I know they fight to the death against each other, but what about other species?

in nature cbs do share their territory with cleaner shrimp, but unless youre system is huge with tons of live rock chances are he will kill/eat them.i have seen pairs available in the past ,and any female introduced immediately after a molt will accept any male.hth

i guess 3" is about as big as ive seen them i dont remember reading haw big they get, anyone know?

I have a female cb whose claw to claw is a good 3", and nose to tail is about that long too. Bring up the subject again in six months and i'll tell you if she got bigger.

Bought 2 cbs not to long ago, the first one killed the second and has also killed a few of our smaller fish. He took out our pink-bar goby, a high-fin goby had I have seen him go after our Pigmy angel. He is going back to the lfs as soon as we can catch him and trade him for a cleaner shrimp. They aren't has pretty but hopefully will not be as mean.

These are some cool shrimp. Colorful.. I bought 1, but it was bout 3 inches long. It would chase my fishes whenever it came near. I took it out because of this. My 55 was too small.

I am thinking about them for my 150 gallon or so. I saw some about 3/4 inch big. If you really want them I think they will go well w/ other shrimps in a big tank.

** i've only kept them alone ** They dont' move much since I got more current.

Talking

I have 1 coral banded shrimp, 2 peppermint shrimp, 2 cleaner shrimp, and 1 pistol shrimp and they all get along. They have been in my tank for at least 7 months now.

So far no problems.

Thanks
Webman.

My CBS gets along fine with my 3 PS in a 90.

The Pittsburgh Zoo has a CBS with a "wingspan" of 6-8 inches! Now that's a big shrimp.

Reef Safe! I'm not sure I'd trust one around my 2 Rottweilers or my French Mastiff!

I have had my CB shrimp for 8 months now. She is about 3" long and her "whiskers" span about 10". She molds every two to three weeks.

She shares my 75 with 3 scarlet cleaners and a bunch of peppermints. She makes feeble attempts at reaching for everything including my 4.5" yellow tang. She's way too slow and too clumsy to catch anything. So far, anyway. It doesn't even look like she really means business. She is actually quite shy and spends most of her time behind the rocks.

I had a CBS housed with 2 cleaners with no problems in a 72 FO for about 6 months. Then one afternoon my wife witnessed the CBS murdering the cleaners. Needless to say, when I got home from work he went right back to the LFS.
