green star polyps

Well some of polyps have seemed to devolpe some brown stuff where the polyp should come out I moved to place where they get more current, but I'm wondering if I should try and rub it off? Should I just give up and put in direct current, I haven't because they haven't attached to my rock that I have it on,

I know they have a hard time coming into a new tank, so I shouldn't get worried yet,(been in the tank about 2 1/2) days but since these are my favorite corals, I really want them to open.

your thoughts?

whenever i was having my red alge problem my star polyps were getting matted with it, what i would do was just hold the whole rock in front of the powerhead and get all the alge off of it using the current and gentle brushing with my fingers. Well, i still have all my star polyps and they are thriving, one of my favorite corals too . If it is just crud build up then i think you should try to clean them off, and i try to always keep my stars in a place where they are gently swaying in the current .

I've had some new one to close and seemed like they shed a coat of slime like then open nicely after several days or a week or so?
Good Luck !

well 2 polyps are open, so I'll leave that where it is, the others haven't yet so I moved them up into a higher area

Get a very small and *soft* paintbrush. Brush the crud off the polyps. They'll thank you for it.
