Wink Some pics to share

Hi guys
been lurking here for a while and ime ready to come out to post a few pics of my setup a 150 gallon reef tank currently running a wet and dry and protein skimming macroalgae. The tank has about 200 pounds off calcium sand and about 275 pound off very live rock ive got a good light hood with twin 250 watt halides also with twin actnic lighting. Ive setup a 4 foot tank as a refugium with various macro algae and 75 pound off genuine mangrove mud all materials have been harvested locally with exception to some off the fancier correla morphs i dont have access to any LFS i live in a remote part of australia so i just make do with what i can catch when i dive sorry about the ordinary picture quality ime only using a 35 mm with a scan . Enjoy the site and hope to make it my salt home . :

Thumbs up Overall perspective

well heres how the whole system looks like in the middle off my lounge dining room as alot off you know these artificial systems can take up a bit off space and make a bit off noise ..

Wink Thanks for the kind words

Thanks for the kind words guys i have only lightly stocked the tank at the moment ime still building up my rockwork ive only recently changed my sandbed and added the caulepra sump about 12 weeks ago ive got a bit more rock to add then i want to let it mature for a few months before adding some stony corals my sandbed is maturing faster then any tank ive ever seen i added about 20 pounds off the finest liveliest sand i could find on a reef.
Its alive with worms and pods and its multiplying fast when you look underneath the main tank its covered in worms and trails ive got a nice bacteria growth on the walls off the glass .

Chromis yes i do Shark fish and hold various records for my captures.... i do a lot off tag and release and tag all billfish i catch.
I only weigh sharks in tournements i have tagged many sharks for the benifiet off fisheries reasearch and spend a great deal off time in my local club PROMOTING catch and release ethics we have banned all billfish from being weighed in any tournements and we have a club code that promotes the preservation off all our gamefish for future years . i spend a lot off time in the water diving i prefer to take my fish on spear i dont seem to see any shortage off sharks when ive got a 10 pound coral trout on.

Looks very promising. What is the story on the tank? I have seen tanks like that in euro photos, but never in the states. It gives a strong definition to the tank. Keep up the good work and Fish On!
