Point of clarification:
I believe that clown-t means to say that his ORP is 470 mV. Right? Ninong ![]()

clown-t,
ORP readings are on of those parameters that you should interpret with a great deal of “fudge factor” 1 OPR probes are notoriously inaccurate. Put 3 different probes into the same water, with the same meter, and you will often get 3 substantially different readings. Calibrating them is even more “problematic” 2 Unless you are using ozone or some other “artificial” ORP booster, ORP will not rise to “unsafe levels” So ORP is really only useful in indicating “trends” i.e. a sudden drop in ORP is indicative of something dead/decaying. ORP is one of those parameters that I don’t bother to buy new probes for my Aquacontroller anymore. Regards, Scott
