Angry What does a Sebae Anemone eat besides a very cool, large cleaner shrimp?

grrrrrr, I just got home and performed my ritualistic (borderline cumpulsive) tank inspection:
Water level, check
LR formations, check
Spot (my ingeniously creative name for my domino), check
Wren & Stimpy (Ocellaris Clowns), check
Anemone, check
Skunk cleaner shrimp
..
...
Skunk cleaner shrimp
.....
hmm,
Anemone, DOH! A faint hint of a tail at mouth with the tip of one white antanea protruding. I do not think he is in there to clean.

I really got a kick out of watching that shrimp. He has been in the tank a few weeks now I am so bummed.

My question is will I have to worry about anything else non-clown/damsel being macked down by jabba the friggen hut?

Also If there are other Sebea owners who have/had cleaner shrimp, what is your experience and how big is your Anemone?
Mine is generaly about 5, 5 and a half inches across and growing (he started off 2-3" and not very healthy in appearance).

Look again today. Chances are that your anemone got ahold of a molt and the shrimp was just hiding out.

Hope it turns out for the best.

Thumbs down

This morning I found the exoskeleton(?) so I assume the Cleaner shrimp molted then got eaten or the anemone ate him overnight then spit out the shell. I am sure beyond a reasonable doubt that the shrimp is no longer in the tank.

Any Sebae owners around?

You can feed Sebae Anemones frozen krill. Thaw them well and squeeze all the air out of the krill. Also brine shimp (frozen or live) will be taken.

Critters usually know to stay away from the anemones. It may have had something to do with the molt. Shrimp are very soft right after a molt and this may have been his downfall. They usually hide out more right after a molt until their exterior hardens.

Sorry for the bad luck. It's nature at work tho. I added a cleaner shrimp once when I had a hawkfish...2 secs later...poof...gone

$20 feeder shrimp.. :-)

Ghost shrimp are alot cheaper. You may want to have some fun with the anemone and some ghost shrimp btw
