Drain it, saving as much of the tank water as possible. Put critters in buckets W/ battery powered airstones, cover the tops W/ towels or something porous that'll block some light. If possible, don't remove your sand, but due to weight, it may be impossible not to. (dump sand in bucket, otherwise) Move tank, set it back up, put old water in it, add new water to top it off, put critters back in when you feel comfortable doing so. COuld be an hour, could be a day, depends on how cloudy your tank is after the move.

As an aside, I usually try to use the move to clean the hell out of the tank. Get to all those spots we can't get to when they are full of water. HTH

Hey thanks for the reply!
I may end up just selling or giving the fish away. That way I could transport easier and put in a sump and some new stuff I'm lookin at. I could also make a fish/invert system. Kinda hard w/trig and eel.

I recently broke down and Moved a 75 gallon full of fish and animals. It took about two hours to drain all the water and load it into the truck and about a three hour car ride home and about another two before I was able to add the fish. I put the fish and animals in a large Cooler, I figured they were in there for 7hours+ with no aeration other than the movement of the ride hime, and they were fine.
What I used to haul all of the water were those 5 gallon plastic water jugs that people use on those stand-up coolers. If you have any place you can get those they work great, If the ends are still on them Wine Corks fit in perfectly to keep the water from sloshing all over. Most places that sell them will let you use them as long as you pay the deposit.
As long as you have help you should be able to move the tank with the gravel and a little water in it. A freind and I were able to carry my 75 gallon full of gravel and enough water to keep it wet with no problems.
Good Luck
