Post Dripping Kalk

I'm using pickling lime, so I don't have any instructions. The question I have is, how fast do I drip it? Do I set the drip to make up for evaportion, or is it based on calcium readings. I have a 30gal tank and I'm losing about 1/2 to 3/4gal. water a day. I just don't want to overdose the tank by dripping too much.

Usually you can use Kalkwasser for all of your evaporation make-up water. It is best to drip it at night. If you are only needing 1/2 to 3/4 gal per day to make up for evaporation, try to set the drip rate to take a couple of hours, or more if possible. The only important thing is that it not be added all at once.

That probably won't happen. Just check your calcium with a goal of keeping it somewhere around 425-450. Some people shoot for a little higher than that but it's not necessary. If you start getting readings above 475, I would cut back a little, but you probably won't.

yes you mix about 1 to 2 tablespoons or kalk per gallon or water. depending on your needs. you can start with about one drip every 2 to 3 seconds.

Mix it up in a gallon jug, with as little air in it as possible, then let it sit till it settles out. Siphon off the clear liquid and drip that
