New Sixline Wrasse - Any comments?
Finally bought another fish after God knows how many months
![]() My tank is a 55 with 90lbs of LR. I have a neon goby and 2 false percs. I had 3 green chromis but I removed 2 of them because they were mean. The third is still in there but everyday I try and remove him. Dam he's smart! I have a 10G set up with a yellow false perc and 10lbs of LR. 1/2" bed of sand from my 55. The tanks been setup a week or so. There's also an established bio wheel mini on there. The LR came from the 55 too. Instead of setting up my 10G QT tank I put the new sixline I got into this tank. I hope the clown doesn't harasss him. Anyway, to the sixline. I bought him today at the lfs for $25. He was eating, I made sure. He's about 1 1/2" or so. I acclimated him to the 10G for about 1 1/2 hours or so. I haven't seen him since! The lights are off though, so it's hard to see period. In 3 weeks I will be moving him to the main tank. Is there anyhting with a sixline can tell me to ensure sucsess with this fish? Thanks All!

Sixline seems to be a pretty hardy fish. I got one here (Nevada), then shipped it to my daughter in Colorado. She had it for 6 months, then decided to discontinue her tank during a job-changing-moving-upheaval. So I brought the fish back in a ten hour car ride.
I had the sixline in my 40 gal tank for about 3 months, found it lying dead on a rock one morning. I haven't a clue. But others I've talked with find the sixline to be a very nice and hardy fish. ![]()

Update
This mourning he was out and about! I found where he was hiding. There's a spot in a piece of LR where he always go into. He comes out in 4 - 5 different places. I guess there's tunnels in the piece of LR. The bigger clown doesn't give him a second look. They have both been in the same place at the same time and they just ignored each other.
And, he is still eating! Live brine right now, but I am slowly giving him frozen's and flakes. I have about 10 different frozen variteies for my fish. Hope he likes some of them! He's so cool! He's really small. I was possibly thinking of leaving him in the 10G. I had really planned on a Mandrain Goby in a couple years in the 125! But I'll come to that road when I cross it. Thanks All!

Aquariust, I have had a 6 line for about 6 or 7 months now. He's doing great. I have a f/o tank, no live rock. He's in with a percula clown, regal blue tang and a lemon peel angel. Gets along with all of them. The only one that bothers him is the lemon peel, and he just chases him away a little if the 6 line gets in his way. (lemon peel does seem to be the meanest, but really doesn't hurt anything). 6 line's also in there with a cleaner shrimp and a couple of snails. No problem with them either. I love mine. Pretty fish.

Six lines are great, I wouldn't worry about them getting along with the clowns. My clowns get territorial with the six-line during feeding, but because the six-line is such a better swimmer than the clowns, the clowns are never able to connect with their nips. If you have LR the six-line will supplement what prepared foods you provide with any pods in your tank, planaria, and any rice snails on clams. The only thing to watch out for is that some six-lines can be skittish and jump out of the tank when startled (like when the lights come on or off). My first six-line killed himself this way, but I replaced him with a baby six-line, who I think is better accostomed to aquarium life, is not afraid of anyone else in the tank, including me.

Burt,
I have an off topic question. What do you think of SNL's skits of you? I thought Norm McDonald's skits for celebrity jeopardy were particulary side splitting. Regards Jake
