6-7 weeks ago, I purchased a red and green open brain from Monfort Pets in Cincinatti, OH. I had not researched the brains enough, and trusted the LFS too much. Little did I know that the brain was malnourished and the skeleton was showing. Since then, however, it has come to a home with good water quality and where it gets fed silversides, shrimp and sqiud two to three times per week.
I wanted to show you what the progressive improvements have look like: Soon after purchase (03-27-01): Three weeks after purchase (04-17-01): Seven weeks after purchase (05-12-01): mgk [This message has been edited by mgk65 (edited 05-12-2001).] |

Excellent, I am doing the same thing. The one LFS had this huge brain coral in their damaged bin. I payed 3 bucks for it, the only thing wrong with it is that it is bleached. Still expands its tissue completely but i havent seen any of its tentacles out. Any idea how i can get the tentacles to open up so i can feed it?

You don't need the tenticles to feed it. You can try to get food into it's "mouth" openings, it should have a few inside the "valleys" Aim to get the chow in there, it should readily accept them. Your best bet is to turn off the water current so the food doesn't blow away.
