We have Babies

After carefully watching everyday, today I noticed the Cardinals had babies. (what a cool present they gave me, since today is my b-day) But unfortunately I only saw 2 of them. I was able to get them in my Q-tank. I fed them some baby brine shrimp, and they ate some. How often should I feed them? I really hope they make it........ wish me luck.

Just incase you dont have this already. I would put soem sort of structure in the Q tank for the babies to hide in. Those cheap plastic plants for freshwater tanks work good.

thx, thx, thx.
I did put some plastic trees in the Q-tank, after reading the articles Ninong, gave me the link for.
They both seem to be doing fine this morning. They just had breakfast. They are so tiny and cute.

You can also make an artificial urchin for them to feel safe in as well, you can make it out of the end cap of a pcv pipe and drilling holes in it and sticking in little plastic rods. This would probably be easier to clean than one of those plastic plants. Also HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I wish I had some fish for my birthday!

Congrats, and Happy B-Day My Bangaiis had babies about a month and a half ago. The male only released a baby every 1-2 hours, I guess he figured they would have better chance if he released them one by one, it took about 36 hours for him to release all of them. I started mine out on baby brine for about two days, then tried golden pearls, the three smallest sizes I use to feed my corals, and after about 4 days I stopped feeding them. They are all happy and fat now and soon Im going to have to find homes for them. Im not sure why it was so easy for me to raise them, everyone told me I would have to hatch brine constantly, but in my case I weened them on to prepared foods from the get go. Now they eat flake and frozen or what ever I throw in the tank. When I say I stopped feeding them I dont mean just that, I just me I stopped preparing food just for them and started feeding them the same as I feed the rest of my fish. Good Luck.
